Aluminium Grade and Tempers for Marine Use

You may know that 5083, 5086, 5052, 3003, 6061 and 7075 are aluminium alloys for marine application. However, do you know why? These alloys are slightly different. However, generally speaking, they have many common points. These alloys all have good corrorion resistance and oxidation resistance. They also have good processing performance and weldability. Among these alloys, 5083 aluminium plate is the choice of most customers.

The tempers of marine aluminium are mainly H116, H321, H112, O and h111. For example, 5083 h116 aluminium plate, 5083 h321 aluminium plate. 5052 marine aluminum is also a common choice. The tempers these customers have aluminio naval 5052 F and 5052 h34.

Different alloys are used for different parts in a boat. 5083 and 5086 aluminium is used for main structure of ship body like deck, engine pedestal, side of the ship etc. 5052 aluminium is used in the upper structure, subsidiary components and boat body like cable trays, decks, portholes, gangways, etc. Except for upper structure, 6061 aluminium is also used in clapboard structure and frame etc. 3003 aluminium is used for marine parts and components.
